Have you tried speaking with the dead?

This week one of my assistants mucked up the courage to tell me she sees and talks to dead people.

I smiled through the phone as she shared because I love that the Universe sends me supernatural humans to be on my team. And I loved that it was so timely as this week is the week we celebrate the dead.

The Day of the Dead, which is November 1st, the day after Halloween, is a powerful time when the veil between the living and the dead become thin. This “holiday” has been celebrated for thousands of years and in many cultures it still is. I personally celebrate this day and perform rituals to honor the dead.

“I don’t really have a mentor with this stuff.” She said. And so I’ll share with you, some things I shared with her…

  • My experience of the dead is connected to my sensitivity with energy. When we think of the spirits that were once inside bodies, they are pretty dense compared to living humans which is why they can still move things such as when you think of a haunted house. This is also why some people can see them and many people can feel them.

  • Most people when they die and leave their body don’t actually realize they have died. It’s unfortunate in modern day society, especially in America and westernized culture people are never taught how to die (aside from certain spiritual paths that teach this).

  • When you feel the presence or actually see someone who has passed on, it is because they want to communicate something to you. You could act as a healer to help them pass on. If you wish to help simply ask them how you can help them.

  • It’s your choice if you want to help those who show themselves to you. It is your choice if you wish to help or not.

  • Allow those who have passed on to rest in peace. It is best not to call upon them because they are busy passing on and you calling upon them keeps them anchored to the physical plane when they are doing their best to ascend and continue on their soul’s journey.

  • Those who have passed on have spontaneously entered into my sessions with clients and in this energetic space my clients have been able to feel their presence and have a supportive exchange that offers solace and helps to bring relief to the grieving process/

  • If souls stay and try to contact the living, they are often dealing with unresolved issues that keep them from passing on or they are upset, you can be a force for good to help them pass on and continue their soul’s journey by letting them know it is safe to pass on and that it will help them to do so.

Most people avoid topics of death, but guess what my loves–death is a part of life and inevitably comes. So why not prepare ourselves?

I recommend sharing with loved ones and even writing a living will where you share your desires regarding end of life procedures. Even as a medical doctor when I was working in the hospitals, this was a common conversation I had with patients and their families.

Unfortunately, not everyone arrives to the hospital capable of speaking their desires for end of life procedures and it creates a huge drama amongst the family members when there is a difference of opinions so it is best you share what you want when there is an accident, emergency or the event of sudden death.

Death is imminent. My advice is not to prolong life for the sake of prolonging life when it is going to be a poor quality of life. Welcome your time when it arrives. Death doesn’t go away if you ignore it, so instead develop a healthy relationship with death and talk about it.

Happy Halloween and Day of the Dead! Who will you be honoring?
