Live every moment in this...

With love in the air this week, I couldn’t help but be inspired by love for this week’s blog post.  This past year especially, I’ve come to truly ponder the meaning of love AND holidays. As for holidays, it’s not about having to spend money or buy gifts to celebrate. It’s much deeper than this...

Top tools to create your reality.

A series of epiphanies thanks to various practices, people, and information sources gradually woke me up. I realized I wasn’t lucky or unlucky; I was creating my reality with my thoughts and my actions. After realizing how the universe works, I  decided to alter my reality, and I continue to do so everyday. When I’m not happy with something in my life, I choose to change it. I’m not going to just deal with it. Life is too short for that mentality. In no way, shape, or form will I ever settle or compromise when it comes to living a life full of passion. These are the top tools I use to create my reality.

How do you know you are living your passion?

Do you wake up everyday with the desire to scream, "I LOVE MY LIFE"This past weekend a friend invited me as a guest to a seminar entitled Reignite. And gratefully it did just that, it reignited my passion and vision of my purpose here on this planet. How about this for a New Year’s Resolution…

It’s about that time again, time for a New Year’s resolution. Time to decide what it is in our lives or about ourselves that we want to change, that we must change or else… Well I have a different idea for a resolution. It’s quite the opposite actually. But beware…It will require you to be bold and courageous. But I believe in you. You can do it…

Your eyes romance my soul. A letter to a soulmate.

There are times when I write as if bleeding from my soul. These are the times when I'm inspired to share in this romantic way, baring the rawness of my heart to you. I cherish writing as a major form of expression and creative outlet for it nourishes my being. And so this letter made its way through my fingers and I invite you on this romantic interlude as a way to show gratitude for the soulmates you have come to know this lifetime and to fantasize about those you have yet to meet again. I dedicate this piece to my soulmates who have inspired me thus far on this beautiful journey of life.

Every day is Thanksgiving.

Gratitude is a practice that enriches our lives. It’s not just something to share on a holiday like Thanksgiving. It is a daily practice. Give thanks for each and every beautiful moment, and even for the hard times, as these are where we learn our greatest lessons. Being grateful brings more joy into our everyday lives. Giving thanks even improves our health. Yes, really! What are you grateful for?

Labels Shmabels. There are more than 50 shades of Gray.

Labels place us in neat, constricting boxes—Black, White, Christian, Hindu, Gay, Straight, Married, Single, Male, Female, Womanizer, Romantic, blah, blah, and so the labels continue on. But there are more than 50 shades of gray, and in reality everything is spectrum. Did you know that white light is really all the colors of the rainbow? If natural elements exist in more than one form and are constantly evolving with time, how can we not expect the same for people?

I Get Lost in the Sky

This morning I awoke with a gasp to the stifling summer heat in the air. I rolled over and saw it was 4:30am. A smile spread across my face because I knew the sun had yet to begin her ascent. I grabbed a sweater and climbed the winding staircase to the rooftop. The warm breeze kissed my legs as I stepped out onto the terrace. There, dazzling in front of me, was the Manhattan skyline— a concrete jungle full of dreams and chaos. “Oh the love/hate relationship I have with this city,” I thought for a moment, and then as the sunrise began, the pink lights in the sky robbed all of my attention.

Do you give yourself permission to relax?

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to relax? In the rat race of busy schedules— work, exercise, meals, events, dates, friends, loved ones, children, adventure, travel, blah, blah… How much time are you devoting to rest and pampering yourself? Sleep doesn’t count because it’s a necessity. I mean full on “this my time to do nothing” or “this is my time for self-love to do exactly what I want to do to nourish myself.”

I See You

Yesterday I was sitting on the train talking Spanglish to an American guy visiting from Colombia. I met him at a 5 rhythms dance class, and after telling me about his interesting life, he commented on my presence in the class, “While everyone was dancing around all crazy, you were moving to your own beat in the corner of the room looking out the window connecting with the sunset.” As I looked into his eyes, I felt that he could see me. He knew more about me than words could say and I began to cry.

You Are My Guru

I’m a free spirit. That means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Yesterday, lying under a tree seeking refuge from the sun, a handsome photographer told me about Plato’s The Allegory of the Caves, and it sparked a sense of deeper compassion for every person I meet. I live in a cave that is a creation of my life experiences. No two caves are the same and thus the way I experience life and define free spirit is likely different from yours.

And so we continue on the healing journey… a letter to my client

We all begin our journey of healing somewhere. It's a cyclical process of light and suffering. Oftentimes my clients are mirrors into my soul. They inspire me and we support each other through the healing process. I wrote this letter to a client and thought it may be an inspiration for others. Namaste

Even in Darkness There is Light

It's rainy and gray in NYC. There is sadness in the air. This past week, I know of two people who overdosed, and I'm sure there were more. I wrote this blog sitting in the dark with the raindrops pattering against the window, exploring and embracing the darkness while remembering that where there is darkness there is light...
